The Limitless programme enhances the skills and confidence of people from under-represented communities who may have experienced barriers to employment or sports participation in the past. It offers comprehensive training and a mentoring scheme to ensure participants are fully supported. The programme aims to empower participants by boosting their confidence, improving their well-being, and increasing their employability through gymnastics.

Limitless Cohort 2024

In 2024, with continued support from the Hiscox Foundation UK, we welcomed a new cohort of 10 learners to the programme. Aged between 20 and 56, the group reflected strong diversity: 50% were from IMD 1–3 areas, 50% from ethnic minority backgrounds, 40% declared a disability, and 40% had English as a second language.

Learners were supported by a dedicated mentoring team, including four Hiscox staff trained as Life Mentors alongside British Gymnastics colleagues. The programme launch at Lilleshall created a safe, inclusive environment where confidence and optimism flourished. All learners successfully completed their Activity Instructors Award, with many reporting increased confidence and a more positive outlook for their future.

Beyond the classroom, enrichment activities such as a laser shooting session delivered by Battle Back, helped learners overcome anxiety and build resilience. Just months on, nine learners were in coaching roles, with the tenth training to deliver the Love to Move programme for older adults. Together, the 2024 cohort is now reaching over 1,180 children every week, demonstrating the programme’s powerful and lasting impact.

Limitless Cohort 2023

Ten learners completed the Activity Instructor Course, gaining their first Gymnastics coaching qualification. The diverse cohort, aged 18–49, included participants from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds, with 50% declaring a disability or impairment. Since completing the programme, many have progressed further, taking Disability Coaching modules, advancing to Level 2 qualifications, and returning to coach in their local communities. One year on, 75% remain engaged with their mentors, seven coach regularly, and five are now in paid coaching roles. Learner feedback highlights the programme’s inclusive, supportive, and life-changing impact.
