Our Inspirational Experiences Programme offers heart-warming and unforgettable moments for people who have endured difficult circumstances or at times of crisis in their lives. Whether it’s meeting their Gymnastics Idol, attending the British Championships or joining a Gymnastics Club for the first time, these experiences are tailored to bring a spark of joy and inspiration to those in need. One mum said, “Thank you so much for yesterday, the girls had the best time and so lovely to hear them talking about their best day ever!”

Meet Poppy aged 12, an extraordinary young carer

To recognise Poppy’s incredible spirit, she and her friend Jess were invited to train at Lilleshall National Sports Centre with the Women’s Senior Gymnastics Team including Olympians. From meeting elite athletes and receiving tips from National Head Coach Martine George to training sessions, tumbling, and behind-the-scenes tours, it was an unforgettable and inspirational day.

As her mum shared, the experience gave Poppy “the hug of recognition she deserved”, a reminder that despite the challenges she faces, her dreams are absolutely within reach. Read more about Poppy’s Story here

An Inspirational Day at The British Championships

At the British Artistic Gymnastics Championships 2025 in Liverpool, we were delighted to welcome two incredible families from City of Preston Gymnastics Club for a truly special day.

Piper (9) and Guari (13) were nominated for an Inspirational Experience with the British Gymnastics Foundation. Both girls have shown remarkable resilience in the face of personal challenges, and we wanted to give them a carefree day focused purely on fun and enjoyment.

From VIP seating and goodie bags to meeting gymnasts and sporting icons, the families were treated to an unforgettable experience filled with smiles, surprises, and lasting memories.

As their club Welfare Officer shared, the day “went far beyond what anyone could have expected” and meant the world to the families involved.

It was an honour to celebrate these inspiring young gymnasts and remind them that they are supported, celebrated, and never alone 💙🤸‍♀️

A Trampoline Surprise for Thandie & Niamh

Thandie and her family were first supported by the British Gymnastics Foundation during a difficult time through a hardship grant. Years later, when Thandie and her best friend and synchro partner Niamh attended the FIG World Trampoline Championships in Birmingham, we were delighted to help create a special surprise.

At the event, both girls were presented with signed event T-shirts from the competing trampoline gymnasts, followed by a private video call with their idol, Olympic medallist Bryony Page. The experience left both gymnasts inspired, excited, and full of motivation for the future.

Charlotte Spends time with the Senior Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Team

Charlotte is an 8-year-old gymnast with a love for the beam and big dreams for the future. With support from the British Gymnastics Foundation, we helped cover her initial training fees—support that has already seen her progress into a higher-level class.

Recently, Charlotte enjoyed an unforgettable experience visiting the Men’s Senior Team at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, where she met elite gymnasts and trained alongside them. The visit had a lasting impact. Charlotte says ‘Barry is the Coach that makes dreams come true’. It has helped her to believe that her dreams are not only valid, but achievable.

Chloe meets her Idol

Chloe, an 18‑year‑old with Autism and additional health challenges, joined our Limitless residential programme in 2023 to train as a Gymnastics Activity Instructor. Having never stayed away from home before, taking part was a huge step for her.

Knowing her passion for gymnastics and her admiration for Alice Kinsella, we arranged a surprise meet and greet during Alice’s training session at Lilleshall National Sports Centre. The experience gave Chloe a powerful confidence boost and helped reignite her love for training and coaching.
